This policy explains what we collect, why, and your rights under the Malawi Data Protection Act and applicable law.<\/p>\n\n<h2>1. Information we collect<\/h2>\n<ul>\n  <li><strong>Account details<\/strong> \u2014 your name, username, phone number and email when you register.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Financial data you record<\/strong> \u2014 accounts, transactions, budgets, goals, loans, investments and projects you add.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Financial SMS (optional)<\/strong> \u2014 if you enable automatic SMS capture, we read only messages that appear to be money transactions (e.g. Airtel Money, TNM Mpamba, bank alerts). We do <strong>not<\/strong> read or store personal messages. Messages that are not financial never leave your device.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Receipt images (optional)<\/strong> \u2014 photos you scan are processed to extract transaction details.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Device push token<\/strong> \u2014 to send you reminders and updates via Firebase Cloud Messaging.<\/li>\n  <li><strong>Payment information<\/strong> \u2014 subscription payments are processed by PayChangu; we store the transaction reference and status, not your card or mobile-money credentials.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2>2. How we use your information<\/h2>\n<ul>\n  <li>To provide spending tracking, insights, reminders and the AI financial coach.<\/li>\n  <li>To process subscriptions and issue receipts.<\/li>\n  <li>To improve and secure the service.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2>3. AI processing<\/h2>\n<p>The AI coach sends the relevant parts of your financial summary to our AI provider to generate guidance. It is used to answer your questions and is not sold or used for advertising.<\/p>\n\n<h2>4. Sharing<\/h2>\n<p>We do not sell your data. We share data only with service providers that help us operate (payment processing, cloud hosting, push notifications, AI processing) under appropriate safeguards, or where required by law.<\/p>\n\n<h2>5. Retention<\/h2>\n<p>We keep your data while your account is active. You may delete your data or close your account at any time, after which we remove it except where the law requires us to retain records.<\/p>\n\n<h2>6. Your rights<\/h2>\n<p>You may access, correct, export or delete your data, and withdraw optional permissions (SMS, camera, photos, notifications) at any time in Profile or your device settings.<\/p>\n\n<h2>7. Security<\/h2>\n<p>We use encryption in transit and secure storage for credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.<\/p>\n\n<h2>8.
